John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, CBE (3 January 1892 – 2 September 1973) was an English writer, poet, philologist, and university professor, best known as the author of the classic high fantasy works The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings, and The Silmarillion.
Ready Player One HistoryEdit
Tolkien is recommended as reading material that is part of the recommended Gunter reading list. He would appear strictly as the simple reading entry, but was referenced more explicitly in two situations.
- Dagorath is a word in Sindarin (the elvish language in The Lord of the Rings) meaning battle. However, the actual reference was to Dungeons of Daggorath, which is spelled with two 'g's instead of one.
- Og's wife was a Tolkien fan, and designed his real-life residence to look like Rivendell from the Lord of the Rings movies.
